“Bornholm archaeologists are working with colleagues from Denmark, Poland and Sweden on the EU-funded “Laying fixed foundations for innovative archaeotourism: a new “green” archaeoroute in the southern Baltic Sea region” (“ArchaeoBalt”, for short) project. This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2014-2020) It is a 3-year long project (starting in 2018) binding the University and Museum of Gdansk (Poland), Bornholm Museum and Århus University (Denmark) & University of Lund (Sweden). The current excavations at Sorte Muld on Bornholm are part of the “ArchaeoBalt” project and are a collaboration between Bornholm Museum and Aarhus University with contributors from Gdansk and Lund. It aims to present a new way to promote forgotten cultural and material heritage through several activities, which should boost the tourist exchange in SBSR by creating a new brand – sustainable green & blue Archaeotourism.”
